The trip
Build a city break around your interests
Lyon can be explored through its heritage, food or museums. For a short visit, select a few areas and give yourself time to enjoy each outing. Staying near the attractions and restaurants that matter to you can make the days more flexible, with fewer journeys and more time to relax.
A Lyon visit beyond one event
The Festival of Lights may be the reason for your trip, but a cultural or food-focused break can be planned for other dates too. During events, visitor flows and routes can change. Contact YOOLA with your priorities to discuss accommodation, travel options and the assistance you would like.
Do I need to visit during the Festival of Lights?
No. A Lyon trip can focus on culture and food at other times, subject to opening dates and availability.
Can the trip involve only short journeys?
Tell us this is a priority. Hotel location and a small selection of nearby visits will be central to planning.
Highlights
Ideas to personalise with YOOLA. These visits are not automatically included in your trip.
The peninsula, riversides and heritage
The Presqu’île and areas along the Rhône or Saône offer ideas for outings. Vieux Lyon and sloping districts need more detailed route planning. Historic passages should not be assumed accessible: select routes that suit your wheelchair, stamina and assistance arrangements.
Culture and local food
A museum can be the focus of a day, followed by a meal or a neighbourhood visit. For a Lyon restaurant, check the entrance, space between tables and toilet access. Mention dietary requirements during planning so that suitable options can be explored for your stay.
Accessibility
Arrival and getting around
Your arrival station, luggage and transfers should be considered together. Share wheelchair specifications and whether you can transfer to a vehicle seat. Using public transport requires checking the planned route and operating conditions; it is not automatically a substitute for a pre-arranged transfer.
