Accessible Normandy holidays: plan your trip

Discover the destination

D-Day sites, harbours and heritage: plan a Normandy holiday with YOOLA around your interests, pace and individual access requirements.

The trip

A region best explored at your own pace

Normandy invites you to spend time with its history, sea views and local food. For a first visit, a small number of well-chosen stops can be more rewarding than trying to cover the entire coast. A conveniently located base can reduce hotel changes and leave room for proper breaks during the day.

Discuss your Normandy holiday with YOOLA

Send your dates, party size and the two or three places you most want to see. Include your equipment requirements, assistance needs and preferred pace. We can explore a Normandy stay or a combination with Paris, subject to suitable services being available. Your quotation will set out the arrangements selected.

Can I explore D-Day history without going onto the sand?

Yes. An itinerary can focus on museums, viewpoints and promenades. Access to each planned stop must be checked before booking.

Will I need a different hotel every night?

Not necessarily. One base may work for the places you wish to visit; your adviser will consider the distances with you.

Exploring the D-Day sites

Arromanches, Courseulles-sur-Mer and the Omaha Beach area are possible starting points for planning a remembrance itinerary. Museums, viewpoints and seafront walks offer different experiences: visiting a D-Day site does not always mean going onto the sand. Routes need to be considered individually, including distances, entrances and wheelchair requirements.

Harbours, towns and local flavours

A stop in Honfleur, time in Caen or a coastal outing could complement a history-focused holiday. In historic centres, cobbles, thresholds and comfortable routes need attention. Decide what matters most to you: heritage, scenery, food or relaxed time together. These priorities will help shape the itinerary.

Accessibility

Planning transport and accommodation

Tell us where you will arrive, your wheelchair model and dimensions, and whether you can transfer to a vehicle seat. Planning should cover the vehicle, bedroom and bathroom as well as travel between attractions. Beach equipment and any assistance with bathing need to be checked for your intended dates.
